here's the working color scheme - the basic idea i'm going for and just need to be tweaking.
if you notice an errors, please let me know so i can fix them before applying this scheme to the real blog.
for the record, the white box to the upper right (below the name of the post and the funky looking "#20") should eventually be a checkered flag. i'm in the process of trying to figure out the best way to do that and getting it done.
other than that, things (except those that i've overlooked) should remain pretty much the same when it gets transferred to the real blog.

A few thoughts. I really like where this color scheme is going. I was thinking that maybe a slightly darker orange would work well with the right side bar... not sure, but it might be worth a look at. The "#20" logo is cool (behind "nathan's test") but perhaps something could be done about the streak marks so that it comes across a bit more clear. I was thinking about a little bit of shadow or fade on the streaks such that the #20 stands out a bit more.
I'll take another look at it and see if I can suggest anything else.
